Brisk preparations on for Tirumala ‘Brahmotsavam’

The TTD has fixed September 20 as the deadline for completion of all Brahmotsavam-related works. Meanwhile, workers are briskly sprucing up different spots in the temple town.

The Tirumala temple is getting a coat of fresh paint. The ‘Pushkarini’ (temple tank) is being repaired and beautified. Barricades are being erected in the streets by TTD security staff to ensure safety of devotees. All wings of the TTD are engaged in executing Brahmotsavam-related works. Employees of the electricity department are involved in making arrangements for lighting, which has always been central to the high-profile ritual.
The garden staff is busy making arrangements for sourcing a wide variety of flowers under the leadership of director Srinivasulu. He said that the aim was to attract devotees with eye-catching arrangements. The Lord’s ‘Swarna Ratham’ is getting ready in the museum. A ‘mandapam’ is being built where it would be parked permanently.
