Shruti files complaint on assault after5 days, accused arrested

The Tollywood and Bollywood upcoming actress, who is most popular as Kamal Hassan’s daughter, Shruti Haasan had lodged a complaint on molestation and infringement against an unidentified stalker who allegedly tried to make a forcible entry into her recently owned residential flat at suburban Bandra West in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

It is evident that the news of assaulting Shruti has become sensational since last Tuesday. The accused has been arrested on Sunday by the Mumbai police. It is evident that almost 5 days have elapsed after the incident had taken place on Tuesday morning at around 9.30 am. Shruti has been in Mumbai to attend a film shoot.

According to the police officials, in her complaint, Shruti has mentioned that she was confronted by a stalker, who allegedly tried to barge into the apartment. Also he expressed his irritation on Shruti for not recognizing him, said the officials. Further, the accused had even put his hand on the actress' shoulders and tried to molest her, added the police officials. Although she was flustered, somehow she managed to push the man away and locked the door, said the police officer.

Dazed Shruti lodged the complaint late last night, after 4 completed days after the incident. A case has been filed under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code, Assistant Police Commissioner Shivaji Kolekar said.

According to the actress, the indict was spotted on the sets of her films on a few occasions. The police officials said they have obtained the CCTV footage of the residential building and the man was seen in the footage. They said that they are in the process of identifying the culprit. It is learnt that the accused had made an entry in the building's visitor diary as 'Ashok' but it may be a fake name, police sources added.

With the latest information available, according to the police sources, a spot boy was arrested on Sunday from central Mumbai in connection with stalking and trespassing at actress Shruti Haasan's house in suburban Bandra. The accused has been identified as Ashok Shankar Trimukhe. "He is a spot boy in Film City," Mr Kolekar, the police official said.
