‘1’ to have a global release, say producers

Dismissing speculations that Mahesh Babu-starrer ‘1: Nenokkadine’ will not make it on the intended date, producers Anil Sunkara, Gopi Achanta and Ram Achanta said that it will indeed release on January 10 on a grand note. “It will be the biggest Tollywood release till date. It will be releasing in 1,500 screens, including overseas. The overseas prints have been dispatched,” they said on Tuesday.

Shot over a period of 170 days, the psycho-social action thriller, bagged a ‘U/A’ certificate on Monday. “The film’s subject has a universal appeal; hence we are planning to release it in countries like Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Russian Federations countries over the course of next six months. The release won’t stop with the Telugu version alone,” they smiled.

The makers are confident that the film’s action sequences will enthrall everyone. “They are shot on standards with Hollywood action flicks. We’ve shot an action sequence at London Bridge. The only other film to be shot at the same place remains to be ‘Fast and Furious’. The film will be a new experience to Telugu film audience,” they added.

The makers have cleared that Mahesh’s son, Gautham, has been roped because they felt that the character fitted him perfectly. “He has a crucial episode in the film. His performance will leave everyone astounded. He was enthusiastic and enjoyed his stint on sets,” they said.

Directed by Sukumar, the film stars Kriti Sanon opposite Mahesh. Devi Sri Prasad’s music has already topped the charts.
