ANR was the first to play dual role in Telugu films. He also played nine characters in the film Navarathri. Legendary novel Devadas in Telugu was filmed on ANR. The actor proved his talent by fasting for the film to look anemic and dreadful . Devadas acted by ANR remains a classic portrayal in his career.
‘Tenali Ramakrishna’ was the film where he portrayed ancient Ramakrishna Pandit and his dialogue delivery was appreciated by film buffs.

Premabhishekam is one of the biggest hits in Tollywood which ran for 533 days Hyderabad City, which is still the highest run in a city for any Telugu movie. The film was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, is also the only Telugu film to have run for more than a year.
Samsaram, Bratuku Teruvu, Aradhana, Donga Ramudu, Dr. Chakravarthi, Ardhaangi, Mangalya Balam, Illarikam, Shantinivasam, Velugu Needalu, Dasara Bullodu, Bharya Bhartalu, Dharmadata, Batasari, and College Bullodu were his other movies.
ANR never once stepped back from his career although he was getting old. He never restricted himself but continued to play roles that suited his age. One of his memorable performances in the recent times was Sitaramayyagari Manavaralu with Meena. The film was released in 1991, exactly 50 years after his debut. Which was a hit at the box office.

ANR, also worked in several films with all the young heroes during 90s and in 2000. He worked with Bala Krishna, megastar Chiranjeevi, Victory Venkatesh and Sidhartha. His last and upcoming film was with his son and grandson ‘Manam’ under his home production which is yet to hit theatres.
