Why I smoked, boozed and used cusswords

“I smoke, I booze, I use cusswords and behave like a mass character. There is a lot of spice in my role,” said Lakshmi Manchu talking about her upcoming movie 'Chandamama Kathalu' which releases today. “I don't smoke in real life, but had to learned to do it for the role. Apparently models smoke to keep their cheeks bony in structure instead of chubby. I learn to smoke for my character. I could drink alcohol effortlessly, thanks to my training in American theatre,” she added. Lakshmi plays Lisa Smith, a glamorous supermodel who is a bold woman. Talking about why she needs to work so hard – acting, production, TV shows etc, she replied, “My dad Mohan Babu is rich, but I am not. I need money and I haven’t got paid for my roles in my previous movies. I have decided not to work for free anymore.”
