Leander Paes had filed a ‘guardianship petition’ with the family court seeking custody of his eight-year-old daughter with model, Rhea Pillai. In the petition, he accused Rhea Pillai of adultery, lying about her divorce with Sanjay Dutt and having a bohemian attitude of creating insecurity in the mind of their child.

Following these accusations, Rhea Pillai told the Mumbai Mirror that she has no interest in living with Paes anymore. “Who wants to live a life full of fights, blackmails and accusations,” she said.

She also said that he needs to start a trust fund for their child’s security. “We will happily leave him then,” she said. “But first behave like a responsible father, Mr. Leander Paes.

Rhea also revealed that Paes had been cheating on her since day one of their relationship and that she believes all the allegations made against her were in his attempt to gain publicity.

On the accusation of having a volatile temper and being an unfit parent, Pillai says, “Lovely, can he prove it? And now he wants the custody of our daughter. Which court will give him the custody when he has hardly been involved in her parenting? He doesn’t even know where she is at any point of the day. From her report cards you can see that she is doing well. I am involved in her academics while Leander is not in the country for more than six weeks a year."

Rhea said that there is she would give child custody to him, saying firmly, “No way, never!”
