It is more of a typical Telugu entertainer with a simple plot and even simpler characters.
‘Pyaar Mein Padipoyane’ (PMP) is a love story between a singer and a musician, says Aadi while quickly adding, “No, it has nothing to do with ‘Aashiqui 2’. It is more of a typical Telugu entertainer with a simple plot and even simpler characters.” Initially scheduled to release on May 16, the film will open in cinema halls on Saturday. “Since Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Vikrama Simha’ was postponed, buyers wanted us to fill the date. We took their advice,” he says.
‘PMP’ is releasing a year after
‘Sukumarudu’s poor show. The actor admits he has learned from his mistakes. “Many people felt that I should concentrate on love stories rather than experimenting. When director Ravi Chavali narrated ‘PMP’ script last summer, I agreed as I was looking for a similar subject,” Aadi informs.
Speaking about his character, he shares, “I play this sincere and mature youngster who falls for this singer. I tell my friends that even if my love fails, I’ll take it with a pinch of salt, but there comes a point in his life where he wants to die after she leaves him.
How far he goes to win his love is what the film is all about. Ravi garu has dealt it in an entertaining way. It is also a first of a kind for him - a film where he is not dishing out any message.” He continues, “Entertainers are the flavour of the season and I would be working more in such films.”
Starting his career in 2011, the suave actor has managed to do only four films. Is it deliberate? “I’ve never intended that way; it just happened. Because of the gap, I might have lost some audience, but I won’t be repeating that. I have two more releases - ‘Rough’ and ‘Gaalipatam’ - lined up for the year. While the former will hit screens shortly, the latter is almost done,” he replies.
The actor is romancing his ‘Lovely’ co-star Shanvi again for the film. He calls the choice as people’s mandate. “Many people appreciated our pairing in ‘Lovely’ and wanted us to romance again. Ravi Chavali endorsed our view only after he liked her performance in ‘Adda’,” he suggests.
Speaking about his foray into
Sandalwood, where his father – actor and voice artiste Sai Kumar - commands a great deal of respect, the actor says he is buying his time. “ManyKannada producers are in line, but I want to prove myself here. If I take the plunge in Kannada now, there will be rumors that I left Tollywood because my market is dull. I don’t want that to happen.”
