The 5th South Indian Mirchi Music Awards was a grand affair held at Annapurna 7 acres in Hyderabad. Several T-Town personalities graced the occasion and congratulated the award winners. The awards were presented to the movies from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. From Telugu film industry Veteran singer K.Rani has won the Life Time achievement award.

'Aaradugula Bullet' song is selected as the song of the year and 'Attarintiki Daredi' as album of the year. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry won the best lyricist award for 'Maree Anthaga' song from 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' (SVSC). Best male award was won by Kailash Kher for 'Mirchi' and Chitra won the best female singer award for SVSC.

Devi Sri Prasad won the best music director award for 'Attarintiki Daredi' and Best Upcoming music director went to Nag Srivatsav for 'Jagadguru Aadi Shankaracharya'. Best Sound mixing award was won by Uday Kumar ('Iddarammayilatho') and special jury by K.N.Rama Subramaniam.
