Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan expressed his eagerness to work in a Tamil film as he recalled his ‘old bond’ with Chennai.

The ‘Guru’ star, who is the owner of the Chennai franchise in Indian Super League (ISL), is also looking forward to spend some sporting days here as the glamorous soccer event unfolds.

“I would love to and I am dying to do a Tamil film,” he told reporters.

Bachchan, who was part of many Hindi projects of Tamil diretors Mani Ratnam and the late Jeeva, said that he had shot several times in Chennai and had many friends there.

He mentioned his favourites Tamil icons as Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and said he has a ‘soft corner’ for another tinsel town hero, Vikram.

The actor recalled that his father Amitabh used to work in the city as part of his professional commitments in the 80s, sometimes making the family enjoy the complete summer season here.

“I have been coming here since I was a kid. Since dad worked here for many of his films, we have spent many summers here. (I have an) old bond with Chennai,” he said.
