Varma does a case study of psycho killers

Awaiting the release of ‘Anukshanam’, India’s first serial killer film, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma says he has been reading about psycho killers and following their cases closely for the past many years. “The genre is new to me; hence I decided to helm the project. I also read a number of books on psycho killers besides having watched documentaries too. Once I got a hang of the script, I fine-tuned it to our sensibilities,” says Varma.

He feels that audience will get to see a new Vishnu through the film. The macho actor is playing a cop who is on the hunt to nab the serial killer. “He is a bundle of talent but barely anyone gets to see it. I tried to showcase his skills a bit in ‘Rowdy’ but with ‘Anukshanam’ he will prove his mettle as an actor. His portrayal was such that one will definitely identify it with Aamir Khan’s role in ‘Sarfarosh’,” says Varma, who will commence shooting for ‘XES’, an erotica, from the last week of October.
