The list of cuss words in Telugu to be followed by filmmakers has been re-circulated by the Central Board of Film Certification.

Containing more than 30 Telugu words, the list includes nayala, chillara nayala, mushti nayala, VP, Amma Nee Amma, Nee Amma, Chetta Na Kodaka, Bokka, Gadida Kodaka, Bongu and several other more objectionable/abusive words from which most have double meaning or are abusive towards women.

Chaired by CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, the Monday’s meeting at Mumbai has reportedly decided to put the implementation of the list of cuss words on hold although there has been no written direction regarding the same to the regional authorities.

However, most of the words in the cuss list are highly abusive and will not allowed in films said the CBFC advisory board members.

The list of cuss words was prepared in 2003, most included highly abusive words which are not allowed. But due to the board’s lack of seriousness over some words during censor screening and certification, which is why they made it to Telugu films. Now the same list has been re-circulated, said an advisory board member of CBFC.

The list contains a few caste names also. Earlier, a list of 15 Hindi and 13 English words were given by the new CBFC chief to all the regional offices. The list compiled by Mr Pahlaj Nihalani which includes some controversial, objectionable and abusive words has been reportedly put on hold.
