It is a known fact that actor Siddharth slowly drifted away from Telugu cinema a while ago. In fact, his last Telugu film was ‘Jabardasth’ in 2015. Of course ‘Something Something’ did release in the same year, but it was a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and went largely unnoticed.

Speaking at the audio launch of his upcoming film ‘Nalo Okkadu’ – dubbed version of Tamil film ‘Enakkul Oruvan’ – on Tuesday in Hyderabad, the actor spoke about how the Telugu audiences mean the world to him. “Telugu people gave me image, money and a standing as a hero.

For seven and a half years, I made Hyderabad my home and have developed a bond with it too,” he said.Of 25 films that Siddharth has acted in, 12 are in Telugu. “When I was doing Hindi films, I would always introduce myself as a member from the Telugu cinema industry rather than saying I am from Chennai,” he added.

“I had the opportunity of being a part of really big films like ‘Bommarillu’ and ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’ very early in my career. But I decided to change my film choices and guess that didn’t work. But in 2016, I will be back and this time I am going to tread carefully,” said Siddharth, adding, “If the word star comes anywhere near my name, it is only due to the Telugu audience and I am ready to repeat these words anywhere and anytime.”
