Continuing its legacy of innovative programming, NewsX brings a new series for its viewers, Inside Sri Lanka with Mani Shankar Aiyar. Hosted by the former diplomat and the veteran politician Mani Shankar Aiyar, the series will showcase the story of Sri Lanka and the dynamics related to Tamil and Sinhalese people.
The telecast which started on June 6 is a nine-part series shown every weekend. The series attempts a narrative history of the last three tortured decades of the island-nation, told through almost sixty voices of Sri Lankan Sinhala, Sri Lankan Tamil, Indian Tamils and other Indian experts, and also the Norwegian peace mediator, Erik Solheim, who have been deeply involved with Sri Lankan affairs.
Speaking about the series, Kartikeya Sharma, MD, iTV Network said, “At NewsX, we have always believed in turning the spotlight on the issues that may get missed in the haze of daily news. Inside Sri Lanka with Mani Shankar Aiyar is our endeavor to bring forth some of these stories about our neighbour state that are all the more relevant today and should both excite and educate our viewers.”
