On Yamla Pagla Deewana being a Box Office flop-In fact while we were enacting the scenes, we felt that the film will work. However, I did tell the director to make the best use of The Chimpanzee while scenes were being canned with him. Now a days, it takes time for the audiences to digest believable stories. We spent an exorbitant budget on YPD. The film Second Hand Husband, I chose to do merely because the subject has done well in Punjabi language and I am sure this film will be liked by the audiences too.Usually, when things do not fall in place we always like to blame God.

Role in Second Hand Husband:I play a flirt and when I am caught red handed my plight is a sight to witness. I also keep fooling my wife saying I shall stop boozing and shall take an initiative on Tuesday. Undeniably, this Tuesday never arrives and years pass by. Many men will identify with this character. While the ladies will definitely categorise this character as a cunning and a smart one. The comic punches as well the story line is indeed damn entertaining.

On losing his cool-I am a very loving natured guy. I always like to embrace one and all with loads of love. But if my self respect is hurt, then I surely like to teach them some lessons.

Differences in yesteryear and today's cinema-In earlier days, we would sit down with our grand-moms and listen to all tell tales. We were not be in a hurry. But now-a-days, people always like to discuss to the point, they are in a rush. I remember in Hrishikesh's films his storyline would be so intriguing that even if we gave a passing shot it brought in a lot of appreciations. People would come up to us and say," Kya kam kiya hai!" In today's cinema mostly film makers are being inspired by real stories. They like to showcase the worldly short comings in true means. Films are technically well tailored. Fight scenes are blown out of proportion at times but then the audiences are looking forward to such cinema. Everyone is working very hard in today's times. The screenplay of a film needs to be taken care of.

On autobiography-I am a lazy person. I do write my autobiography, read it and then again close the book. I do not know who would be a fit playing my character if all it is made on the celluloid. smilingly he adds, I would not mind playing myself all I need to do is- Wear some make-up, perform and do my own character.

On giving the title of He man-Salman-
I remember during my youth-hood days, I would keep myself busy playing -Kabaddi and Hockey. I would also jump from one banyan tree to another. We were fed very well by our parents. We are the sons of farmers. We did not have any fridge in those days but I remember a glass full of milk was kept in another vessel containing water, and whenever we woke up in the middle of the night ,we were to gulp that glass of milk.By the blessings of the almighty God I have been bestowed with a good physique.
Adding more he says, I remember I performed a scene in a film wherein I had to wear a Roman skirt. Salman commented on my thighs and said,"Paaji aap kya karte hai ki aapki aisi thighs hai?I have never been able to make a thigh like yours! Most of his habits are much like me. He can be the "He man" of today's cinema.

On missing his peers
-I surely miss Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Rajender Kumar and Mehboob. Whenever I turn nostalgic I open my photo album and remember those days with eyes filled with tears. I do meet Dilip Sahab sometimes, I am in films because of him.

On his typical dancing style-I was told to dance on 1,2,3 and 4 beat but I would always take an extra beat. Whenever I was told not to take that extra beat I would say, Ek extra step le liya toh kya hota hai? And that step became my signature style.

Lastly on not being conferred the Dadasahib Phalke Award he says, Whenever I pass by the awards lying in the shelf of my house -They ask me to clean the dust that has perched on them. In fact when you get an award for two three days you will feel happy as you get to read about it. But as days pass, it is just lying in your house. However, Awards are also planned.
