The producers of 'Baahubali' (Tamil version) were instructed by the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court to remove the controversial dialogue ‘Pagadaikku Pirandhavan’ from the movie as it was termed offensive to the Arundhathiyar community from the movie.

The petitions were filed by three people that included state organizing secretary of Tamil Puligal, C Perarivalan and stated that the dialogue that appears at the war sequence is humiliating to the community. Seeking to remove the dialogue from the movie, the petitioners filed the petition in the court.

However, even after the movie crossing five weeks in theatres worldwide, the controversial dialogue is yet to be removed. The government has now been directed by the Madras High Court to issue a circular to all District Collectors regarding the Censor Board’s decision to the caste references in 'Baahubali'. Also, the circular includes that the movie will not be screened in southern Tamil Nadu along with penal action against theatres that do not comply with the order.
