Director duo Abbas-Mustan are known for making thrillers in the past. However, they are now coming with a comedy - Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu. But the duo Abbas-Mustan disagree to the fact that they are making their debut as comedy film-makers with “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu.”
Adding further, the duo stated, "We have already tried the comedy genre with, "Baadshah” (1999) where Shah Rukh Khan played the lead in the film. Undeniably, the Shahrukh starrer, 'Baadshah’ had thrill and action facet as well but the film is an out and out comedy. We are open to all genres but most writers approach us with thrillers. It’s not that we don’t want to make comedy films. When we heard the script, we were so happy and we wanted to make this film.”
Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan saw the day of the light in the film because of the duo directors-Abbas-Mustan. “We are looking forward to working with them again. We can approach them only after we have written a good script. Unless we have something worth-while written for them it would not be possible for us to talk about doing a film with them. Undeniably we do meet them off and on but work can happen if we have a proper story for them. They have done it all. We are looking for something new that will also allure them in the first go itself.”
All praises for both Shah Rukh and Akshay, they add “Akshay and Shah Rukh — both adore their work. We can see that passion in them which is keeping them going even today. Shah Rukh possesses ample of energy. For all of us and his fans he is till the Shah Rukh of Baazigar. We have worked with all the Khans. Undoubtedly we have missed working with Aamir Khan though. All of them are superstars in their own rights."
Though Abbas Mustan is not open to remakes but if any director approaches them to remake any of their old ventures, they have no objections what so ever. “We don't mind, we will jolly well give them the permission, But who do you think can act in films like Khiladi or Baazigar? No one can perfectly replace Shahrukh and Akshay!!”
About their forthcoming projects, the duo Abbas Mustan informs, "We are ready with two scripts. One of our next venture will see newcomers with two boys and two girls. The film will go on floors in November or December. While our next script will have conventional cast, both the films will be romantic thrillers.”
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu stars comedian Kapil Sharma making his debut along with Manjari Fadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Elli Avram who all play wives to Kapil in the movie.
