Looks like Shruti Haasan is hardly putting a foot wrong as far as her career choices are concerned. After being part of smash hits like ‘Srimanthudu’ and ‘Vedalam’ (Tamil), the Haasan girl seems to be the hottest choice for filmmakers in South. Hans Talkies, in this regard, has reliably learnt that the makers of Ram Charan’s next, a remake of Tamil hit ‘Thani Oruvan’, are in discussions with the actress for the leading lady role. The talks, we are told, are in final stages and if all goes well, the actress might serenade Cherry again.

A source close to the film’s unit says, “Though it’s premature to comment, the negotiations are on with the actress. She’s the front runner for the part. Since it’s a full-length role with many monologues, we felt she would justify it. She has expressed her interest. Though it’s a mere formality, she is yet to sign on the dotted line.”

Moreover, since Charan-Shruti is already a hit pair (Yevadu) and that the latter enjoys a good rapport with her ‘Race Gurram’ director Surender Reddy, who will helm the remake, the makers have considered her, added the source.

To be a joint venture between Allu Aravind and NV Prasad, the film is likely to move on to floors in end-December or early January.
