Sharrath MararPawan Kalyan’s work with ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ (SGS) is not just ending with shooting for the film and monitoring the production with the help of friend and producer Sharrath Marar.

States Marar, who is co-producing the film along with Pawan Kalyan Creative Works and Eros International, “He has worked out the entire story and screenplay. Creative-wise he has the final say. He is extremely passionate about the film as Gabbar Singh is a brand. He has sketched supporting characters too in a way that they add to the overall feature.

When we did the Gujarat schedule, we had a battery of supporting actors coming in and playing their parts. They were extremely happy with the way their characters were etched. They even said that it’s a story where the concentration is not just on hero. “Director Bobby is looking to Pawan Kalyan to give the project a path. He is extremely clear of what he was assigned.”

Continuing in the same tone, he adds, “Before the Gujarat schedule kicked off, we took Kalyan to the locations we’ve zeroed in for the shoot because I was not keen on a situation where he would come and tell me, ‘No, Sharrath, this is not what I wanted.’ Midway into the Gujarat schedule, he told me, ‘It’s been two years since I’m working on the film and it’s nice to see all the characters coming alive.’”

Pawan has also conceived action and songs for the film, akin to what he did with films like ‘Khushi’ and ‘Gudumba Shankar’. “We have almost four action blocks and we have shot two of them till now. He has envisaged it in a certain way and fight masters Ram-Laxman has done the execution part. Similarly for songs too, he has set the mood and decided the locations.”

For now, the team is geared up for the next schedule which will commence in the first week of January in Hyderabad. “A big street set is being erected for the purpose. We are also planning a Kerala outing depending upon the recce results,” concludes Marar, who is planning to release the film for next summer.
