Hans Talkies has earlier reported that ‘Kanithan’ Telugu remake, starring Ravi Teja in the lead, was put on hold. In this regard the latest we hear is that the project has been called off. Wonder why? Apparently if the film taking time to go on floors is one reason, Ravi Teja’s remuneration was another.

A source close to the development said, “Ravi Teja has demanded 20 per cent extra than what he generally commands for a film, leaving the producer Kalaipuli S Thanu baffled. Also, the actor wanted the film to go on sets by now; however it didn’t happen. Realising that his demands were not met, he has put the brakes on the project. He has now shifted attention to debutant Chakri’s ‘Robinhood’.

In fact, producer DVV Danayya, after a lot of dillydallying, has even paid Ravi Teja a part of his fee for the film.” This is not the first instance of late that remuneration played a spoilsport in Ravi Teja opting out of a film. He even walked out of ‘Oh My Friend’ director Venu Sreeram’s ‘Yevado Okadu’ after producer Dil Raju failed to pay what the actor wanted.
