Trivikram blames it on the technical glitch

Says he has given the credits to Yeddanapudi, whose novel ‘Meena’ inspired ‘A… Aa’ but her name was missing due to a technical snag

Ever since its release last Friday, ‘A…Aa’, starring Nithiin and Samantha, has been battling plagiarism charges with many claiming that story is a rip-off of writer Yeddanapudi Sulochana Rani’s most accomplished work ‘Meena’, and that director Trivikram Srinivas should have given her due credits.

Putting an end to the controversy at the success meet of the film on Saturday in Hyderabad, Trivikram said he met Sulochana before he took the film to the floors and she even gave him some tips as far as the plot was concerned. “We have given her the credit in the thanks card but due to a technical snag it was omitted. We have now added her name,” said the director, clearly over the moon with the success of the film.

He added that he was supposed to make a film with Nithiin last year itself. “When I enquired about Nithiin’s whereabouts, I came to know he was in Spain and by the time he returned to Hyderabad, ‘S/o Satyamurthy’ with Allu Arjun was finalised. The feeling of not doing a film with him stayed with me for long and when I was pondering of what to do next after ‘S/o Satyamurthy’, it was Pawan Kalyan who reminded me about the plans that I had for Nithiin. I thank him for the reminder,” the director said.

Trivikram further said that Samantha was one of the main reasons for him to write an emotional film like ‘A…Aa’. “During the shooting of ‘S/o Satyamurthy’, she said, ‘you use your brain more than your heart. We love your heart more than your intelligence and it is the reason why we want to work with you multiple times. Why don’t you translate your heart into a film?’ Guess, those words influenced me.”
