Los Angeles: Ricardo Medina Jr, who is best known as the Red Wild Force Ranger on "Power Rangers Wild Force", has been sentenced to six years in prison after admitting he killed his roommate with a sword in January 2015. The 38-year-old appeared in court on Thursday, where the judge handed down the maximum sentence two weeks after Ricardo pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted to "using a sword in the killing", reported TMZ.
Medina was originally charged with murder last year, after being accused of stabbing his roommate, Josh Sutter, with a sword back in January 2015. He initially claimed he had been exercising self-defence. According to the official police reports, the two men got into an argument over Medina's girlfriend, which ultimately turned violent in the house the pair shared.
Medina first became well known for playing the Red Ranger Cole Evans in two seasons of "Power Rangers Wild Force" in the early 2000s. He then later returned to the franchise as the alien warrior Deker in the 'Power Rangers' spinoff "Power Rangers Samurai" for two years between 2011 and 2012.
