Mira Rajput who found herself at the centre of a controversy following her remarks on ‘working women’ has clarified about the same. When Mira Rajput had aired her views at a Women's Day event, little did she think it would invite so much criticism. Mira had said that she wears the label of a housewife with pride and irked many working mothers by saying, "I wouldn't want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work.

Why did I have her (daughter Misha)? She is not a puppy, you know. I want to be there for her as a mother." her husband Shahid had defended her comments by saying that Mira was talking on a personal level and that her statement wasn't a "direct comment on anybody or any category of women." He had said, "I think we are in a time where everybody is getting hurt about everything.

So, I honestly don't feel there is any sense in trying to keep everyone happy." Mira has also clarified on the same saying, “I am not an actor or a public figure, I have the luxury to be politically incorrect," she said, adding, "Women who stay at home and take care of their children deserve to be celebrated as well." Mira also said that she did not want her daughter Misha to "get swept away by the tide" of Shahid Kapoor's stardom, but have a normal childhood.
