Hansika in a meaty role

Glam diva Hansika is returning to T-town after a gap with big-ticket film `Gautam Nanda’ opposite action star Gopichand. The actress who ruled the roost in T-town with a series of hits like `Desamuduru’, `Kandireega’ and `Dhenikaina Ready’, later gravitated to Kollywood and shared screen space with big stars like Vijay and Surya and became a sought-after actress.

“She is busy with Tamil films, so couldn’t take up Telugu films, but now she intends to do more Telugu films, provided she gets meaty roles,” says a source, close to the actress.

Confirming it, producers Bhagwan and Pulla Rao said “Hansika plays a significant role in the film. It is a traditional role which is a good mix of glam and performance. She breathed life into the role of `Spoorthy’(name of the character in the film) and she matches strides with Gopichand,” Nevertheless, the young actress will be dabbling with different language films, than confining herself to one particular language.

“It is a good strategy, since she can pick and choose roles to her liking, rather than repeating herself. Better she sticks to doing multi-language movies, to keep her image intact,” adds the source.
