With August 11 supposed to be extended holiday weekend including Independence Day, T-town filmmakers are lining up their big-ticket releases and clash at ticket windows looks unavoidable. All three films ‘Lie’, ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ boast of different themes and good casting besides their pre-release promotions have triggered lot of expectations among viewers and trade alike.
All the three big films are been sold for more than Rs 100 crore and looks to be interesting clash at the box-office. However, all eyes are on action filmmaker Boyapati Srinu who has to deliver a blockbuster with young actor Bellamkonda Srinivas. “Boyapati easily scored blockbusters with big action stars like Balakrishna and Allu Arjun, so it will be challenge for him to showcase Bellamkonda Srinivas in a ‘larger-than-life’ role and convince audience to spin box-office magic.
He knows that it is not as easy as capturing slam-bang action sequences. Even spotlight is on another director Teja who hasn’t been among hits for some time and his teaming up with Rana has given a fillip to his career. “Rana is riding high on his last two blockbusters ‘Bahubali 2, and ‘Ghazi, and surely looking to score a hat-trick with political saga.
Whereas, Nithiin, who has gone for a complete makeover for his action-centric role in ‘Lie’ and trailer has raised lots of hope and director Hanu is also promising director, so its combination of sorts. Last but not the least, is Bellamkonda Srinivas who would be determined to make a comeback with his big action film with ace director Boyapati Srinu and erase the bad memories of his last release ‘Speedunodu’,’ says producer Radha Rajeshwari who is also a Censor Board Member.
Interestingly, for the first time, mentor Teja will be clashing with his protégé and actor Nithiin at the box-office. “It will be interesting clash to watch out for and it is more important for Teja to win this bout over his protégé,’ adds distributor Ramakrisha, who feels that Bellamkonda Srinivas who has added lot of muscle to his body, will also be determined to knock down his rivals at the ticket windows.
Industry witnessed clash of titans -Chiranjeevi-Balakrishna in the beginning of this year- but now another clash among Gen Z stars. Let’s see who will emerge a winner but surely viewers have a lot to discuss next weekend.
