Manchu Manoj and Anisha Ambrose have played the key roles in the film Okkadu Migiladu. The film is based on the Srilanka civil war and we are hoping that Manoj would come back to the success form.
The film is directed by Ajay Nuthakki and it is marking his directional debut. Gopi Mohan penned the screenplay for the movie. The film unit is very much happy with the pre-release buzz now. The film released in the theatres today. Check out the film's review here.
Story:
Surya (Manchu Manoj) is a student. He fights against the alleged suicides of his friends. The cops arrest Surya and his friends as there are influential persons involved in the case. After some twists and turns, the cops decided to keep an end to Surya by planning an encounter. What did Surya do then? How did he come out of it? What is his connection to Peter (Manoj)? forms the rest of the story of the film.
Performances:
The film stars rocking star Manchu Manoj in the lead role. Manoj has played two different roles in the film. While the first role is the role of LTTE Chief Prabhakaran and the other role is journalist called Surya. In both the roles, the actor delivered powerful performance and impressed everyone. We are sure that his performance will draw a lot of audiences to the theatres.
Anisha Ambrose has got a good role in the film after a long time. She is good with the glamour and also with the performance. There are other actors who have also played character artist roles and few limited roles and they impressed.
Technical Team:
The film's cinematography is handled by V.K.Ramaraju. His camera work is nice and the framing is good. The screenplay by Gopi Mohan is gripping. The editing by Karthik Srinivas is okay but it could have been much better.
The art direction by P.S.Varma is nice. The fight choreography by Manchu Manoj and master Nandu is good though there is an extra dose of action and violence in the film. Shiva Nandigram's music is okay. The background score could have been better for the films like these. The production values of the producers are good.
Plus Points:
- Performances
- BGM
- Story
Minus Points:
- Screenplay
- Narration
Verdict:
Okkadu Migiladu is a great attempt which failed big time at the box office. The film comes out as a movie based on real incidents and it defected the audial scenario of Srilankan refugees who escaped to India. While the first half covers the interrogation cruelty, the second half covers the boat journey. Except for these two sequences, the film has hardly anything to offer the audiences and most of the film is a boredom.
The excess of violence did not really impress the audiences and it failed to generate a good buzz and curiosity to watch the film. The second half is a bit better than comparing to the first half but still, the film failed to manage an average response from the audiences. With strong performances and average technical values. The film is a failure in impressing the audiences.
