With two blockbusters ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’, reigning star Vijay Devarakonda has reportedly revised his remuneration to Rs 10 crore to surpass his colleagues like Nani, Sharwanand and join the big league of top stars who draw more than Rs 10 crore in Tollywood. “No doubt, he is the flavour of the season and the audience are mesmerised with his look, dialogue delivery and understated performance and made him a darling of the masses and classes alike,” says an industry source.
Although it took many years for Ravi Teja to draw Rs 10.5 crore for his recent release ‘Raja The Great’, Vijay touched the magic figure with just three hits to become a star overnight. “There are four to five producers waiting for his dates and ready to pay him his enhanced amount, hence, Vijay Devarakonda will receive the fancy pay in 2018 itself,” the source adds.
Earlier, lineage stars like Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Prabhas, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan were charging anywhere between Rs 15 to 25 crore per film. Devarakonda who had a humble beginning, has scaled new heights with ‘Geetha Govindam’ which is expected to cross a net collection of Rs 50 crore, on par with the films of mega heroes and Nandamuri stars. Undoubtedly, a new star is born in T-town.
