Screen-writer and noted poet Javed Akhtar said that Pakistan has been sponsoring terrorism, they can deny it but it is the truth.

Javed Akhtar was interacting with media on the sidelines of Sonchiriya special screening here in Mumbai.

When asked about India-Pakistan situation escalating post-air-strikes, Javed Akhtar said, “See this India-Pakistan situation has been forced onto us, it is not our choice, but now the issue has been created, what one can do? I mean, how long one remains quiet and silent? Sometimes one needs to react, and the dialogue which is taking place right now is dangerous”

“The sad thing is, I don’t know what’s the agenda, and who is benefitting with this constant terrorism and sponsoring terrorism, I mean, Pakistan can deny all they want, the establishment and army can deny it but the truth is, they are doing it”

“This man, Azhar Masood, this man was forced to release from India by Hijacking an aeroplane, and from Kandahar region, he ended up in Pakistan, so why didn’t they capture him, if they are honest they should have arrested him. This is all nonsense”

Post Pulwama Terror Attack, the tension between India and Pakistan has escalated to the point of War. Both the countries are on high-alert and engaging in air-strikes.

As for Sonchiriya, Javed added, “The script is really good, performances are amazing and the direction is good too. It is a very well written script, and an interesting script, all and all, it is a good film. It is really a good film”

Sonchiriya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. The film presents a rooted tale set in Chambal.
