Bhanu caught with liquor, mobile in jail

Hyderabad: Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in the brutal murder of factionist Maddelacheruvu Suri, was found availing of a ‘special’ treatment at Cherlapally Central prison on Wednesday. Surprise checks conducted by special officers at the behest of the DG (Prisons) T Krishna Raju exposed this. They caught Bhanu enjoying many comforts in a home-like atmosphere. He was found in possession of liquor bottles, using mobile phones and feasting on outside food (biryani).

This is the second time the prison officials found liquor bottles, biryani packets and mobiles phones near Bhanu's cell. It is yet to be verified whether these have been supplied to him by jail staff or somebody else from outside. Recently, Krishna Raju conducted a surprise check in Cherlapally Jail and he was shocked to find out the royal treatment provided to a few inmates. The role of some officers came under scanner as they were reportedly hand in glove with some prisoners.
