Hyderabad: Despite the fact that gold is seized from the passengers almost every day at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, there have been no restrictions for the ongoing smuggling. Even on Saturday, ½ kg gold has been seized from a passenger who arrived at RGIA from Dubai. The customs officials also held the individual for interrogation.
Shamshabad airport has turned the gateway for the smuggling of gold and sanders powder, these days. More cases of smuggling were seen only at RGIA of Shamshabad in Hyderabad. Among all the international airports located in India, RGIA of Hyderabad tops the list, as far as gold smuggling cases were concerned.
