Gold worth 5.9L seized

Hyderabad: According to the sources at Tiruchirappalli airport, a huge quantity of gold (0.5kg) of worth Rs 5.9L was seized by the customs officials. The gold was seized from two passengers arrived at the Tiruchirappalli airport from Singapore by Air India flight on Saturday night. The accused have been identified as Senthil and Rathnam hailing from Kottampatti.

For quite some time Hyderabad’s RGIA has been the gateway for gold smuggling. It appears that the smugglers have changed their gateway and shifted it to Tamil Nadu. The recent smuggling activities give us the evidence for the same.
