According to Police, Goud is a native of Siddipet and was previously involved in 18 cases in different Police Stations of Telangana State and was involved in 3 cases in Karnataka. The police recovered one pistol and four live bullets and Rs 80 thousand cash.

Speaking to media, the Cyberabad Commissioner, C V Anand said Goud was involved in cases like road robbery, chain snatching, theft, fake currency, land encroachment and attempt to murder. Anand said, Goud got married in 2000, he along with another criminal indulged in road robbery and there after committed several offences since then.

During the month of July 2014, Balanagar Zonal Task Force (ZTF) got information about Siddipet fake currency gang. Basing on the information ZTF team led by SIP Venkat Reddy started decoy operation involving two others known members from Siddipet to settle the deal at Majeedpur X road at Balanagar. On August 1 during routine check the police stopped the gang members of Goud into custody who resisted and suddenly attacked a sub inspector Venkat Reddy and Constable Eshwar Rao with daggers. In self defence Venkat Reddy opened fire.
