11 arrested for eve-teasing
Eve-teasers in the city started feeling the heat of ‘SHE Teams’ which started functioning from December 24 in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The teams nabbed 11 offenders, who were found indulging in eve-teasing and stalking women in public places so far, nine cases were booked against them.
Hyderabad: Eve-teasers in the city started feeling the heat of ‘SHE Teams’ which started functioning from December 24 in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The teams nabbed 11 offenders, who were found indulging in eve-teasing and stalking women in public places so far, nine cases were booked against them.
The SHE Teams covered 58 hotspots so far in Malkajgiri, LB Nagar, Shamshabad, Balanagar and Madhapur zones. Ten teams are working 24x7 in the IT corridor of the city. Every Saturday, professional counselling is being given in the CAW (Crime Against Women) Cell situated in the CP office. The offenders are also asked to join the teams in spreading awareness on women safety.
Counselling is being done under the guidance of Malkajgiri DCP Rama Rajeshwari, IPS, ACP (Crimes) Usha, ACP (Cyber Crimes) Snehita and trained counsellors. Families of the victims expressed gratitude to the police saying that this would act as a deterrent and the offender would think twice before committing the crime again. SHE Team Cyberabad Facebook page is also getting huge response.
