Chain snatcher pepper sprays policemen, flees with aides
In a bizarre incident, a notorious chain-snatcher along with his accomplices used pepper spray as a weapon to hoodwink ill-armed policemen. The incident happened when constables were escorting the accused back to Cherlapally jail after the latter was produced in Rangareddy Court, the police said on Tuesday.

According to police, Md Aqeeluddin alias Khalifa, 25, a resident of Chandrayangutta was involved in more than 100 cases, related to property cases, under different police stations since 2010. He gave amiss to LB Nagar police on Monday afternoon, when the constables stopped at a hotel in Kothapet for lunch.
“Some unknown men believed to be his friends of Aqueel sprinkled pepper spray on the constables, to help him escape,” Chaitanyapuri Inspector, M Ravinder Reddy said. The police registered a case under sections 224, 225 & 353 of IPC and special teams were formed to nab the accused who is still at large.
