Fake gutka manufacturer held
The Task Force (South) police on Tuesday raided a fake gutka manufacturing unit in Edibazar of Santoshnagar and recovered a huge quantity of gutka, a packing machine and raw material.
Hyderabad: The Task Force (South) police on Tuesday raided a fake gutka manufacturing unit in Edibazar of Santoshnagar and recovered a huge quantity of gutka, a packing machine and raw material.
They arrested Syed Akhtar, 45, a resident of Edibazar, and seized as many as 11, 725 pouches, pouch making material and two gunny bags of 100 kg of raw material, all worth Rs 1 lakh.
“The arrested was allegedly producing gutka for several years under different brand names and selling it in the local market,” Additional DCP, Task Force, N Koti Reddy said, adding that efforts were being made to nab Anwar, another partner, who is still at large.
“Search operations are on to track other such units which are operating clandestinely in the city,”
Reddy said, adding that officials of the Food Safety and Drug Administration department (South) were informed.
