Major fire at chemical godown in Jeedimetla
A major fire broke out at a rubber godown in Jeedimetla on Wednesday evening, resulting in loss of property worth lakhs of rupees. The fire personnel doused the flames after four hours of hard work. No casualties were reported. According to District Fire Office, M Bhagwan Reddy, the fire broke out at a chemical godown located at Subhash Nagar in Industrial Area, Jeedimetla around 5.15 pm.

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a rubber godown in Jeedimetla on Wednesday evening, resulting in loss of property worth lakhs of rupees. The fire personnel doused the flames after four hours of hard work. No casualties were reported. According to District Fire Office, M Bhagwan Reddy, the fire broke out at a chemical godown located at Subhash Nagar in Industrial Area, Jeedimetla around 5.15 pm.
Four fire tenders from Jeedimetla, Secunderabad, Kukatpally and Assembly were rushed to the spot.Thick smoke billowed from the godown and it continued to erupt from the godown for about two hours even as fire personnel battled the blaze. “The godown had piled up several tonnes of cheap rubber waste and chemical solvents in barrels,” Reddy said, adding that fire also spread to the two nearby godowns .
Noticing the intensity of the blaze more fire tenders from Madhapur, Moula Ali fire stations were pressed into service. Finally, at around 9 pm the fire personnel managed to control the fire. The cause and extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained, fire officials maintained
