Hyderabad: In a ghastly incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Cooperative Bank Colony in Nagole, under LB police station on Monday. The culprit, 14, son of an RTC employee, stays in the same colony. “On Friday as the victim was playing outside her home, the accused lured the girl and took her to his house and outraged her modesty. The victim was sent to hospital for medical examination,” the cops said.

The minor did not reveal the incident to her mother on same day, but the crime came to light when she was taken to hospital after she complained of stomach ache and bleeding, the cops said, adding that her father works as a watchman. Based on a complaint by the victim’s mother, a case was booked against the rapist under Section 376 (Rape) of the IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2012.
