Convict escapes from Cherlapally jail
A convict in a murder case escaped from Cherlapally open-air jail on Thursday morning. According to the police, Durgam Narasimhulu (32), hailing from Farooq Nagar mandal in Mahbubnagar district was charged with involvement in a murder case in Mahbubnagar. He was lodged in Cherlapally jail after getting conviction in the murder case a few years ago.
Hyderabad: A convict in a murder case escaped from Cherlapally open-air jail on Thursday morning. According to the police, Durgam Narasimhulu (32), hailing from Farooq Nagar mandal in Mahbubnagar district was charged with involvement in a murder case in Mahbubnagar. He was lodged in Cherlapally jail after getting conviction in the murder case a few years ago.
The police said the accused was about to complete his jail term in one year. He escaped while attending works along with other inmates. He was found missing when the authorities lined up the prisoners to send them into the barracks. Based on a complaint lodged by jail authorities, the Kushaiguda police registered a case against Narasimhulu. They launched a manhunt to trace him. Three special teams have been formed to track him.
