A home Guard was among three people arrested by the police here for allegedly stealing bikes, from whom 30 stolen two-wheelers worth 15 lakh were seized, it was announced on Wednesday. Accused S Bikshapathi Raju, who is a home guard attached to the Karimnagar headquarters in Telangana, R Anjaiah, an auto-rickshaw driver and S Devender, a private employee were arrested and 19 cases filed at different police stations in the city were detected.

Accused S Bikshapathi Raju, who is a home guard attached to the Karimnagar headquarters in Telangana, R Anjaiah, an auto-rickshaw driver and S Devender, a private employee were arrested and 19 cases filed at different police stations in the city were detected.
Producing them before the media on Wednesday, the Panjagutta police officials informed that the gang used to lift vehicles in the city and sell the bikes in Karimnagar at a meager amount by removing engine and chassis numbers, besides, changing number plates.
Raju was earlier arrested in a cheating case and was lodged in Jagityal after he married a second woman in Karimnagar in 2011. There he met Anjaiah. They remained in contact after being released on bail. Raju continued his job as Home Guard in Karimnagar.
When Anjaiah and Devender visited Hyderabad to meet Raju, they made him to learn the skill of bike lifting in 2014. They sold vehicles by telling the customers that it was on finance and documents was with the finance company and induced the buyer to give small token amount of Rs 5,000 or Rs 6,000 and pay the balance amount after receiving the original documents.
