During investigation, Tappachabutra inspector, B Ravinder arrested the accused and recorded their confession in which they admitted their guilt. “The couple had marital dispute a year ago and since then Manju along with her six-year-old son, Abhishek, shifted to her parent’s house at Gudimalkapur. Manju filed a dowry harassment case at Women police station, CCS in December last year.

In this connection, Yeshwanth threatened Manju and her mother to withdraw the case and hand over the “custody” of his son. About 20 days back, Yeshwant discussed the matter with his friend, Arvind and sought his help to eliminate Manju and her mother and offered him Rs 4 lakh. Arvind agreed and promised to help him. Arvind contacted another friend, Harish and they both hatched a plan.

Accordingly, they both came to Manju’s house at Haridas Nagar in Gudimalkapur on June 1 around 6 pm and stabbed her. Kalavathi was also injured when she tried to intervene,” ACP (Goshamahal) Ghouse Moinuddin said, adding that Manju died on her way to hospital while Kalavathi is undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital.
