Kidnapped child restored to parents
One-year-old Vishnu, who was kidnapped on June 9 from Chowki Chaderghat in Mirchowk area, was reunited with his family members on Friday following the arrest of kidnapper.The accused, identified as A Maddilety, 33, a resident of Chaderghat huts at Kalikaber, eked out a living as a rag picker. He managed to kidnap the child from the complainant’s house, who is his sister, while Vishnu was playing alone in the house, police said.
Hyderabad: One-year-old Vishnu, who was kidnapped on June 9 from Chowki Chaderghat in Mirchowk area, was reunited with his family members on Friday following the arrest of kidnapper.The accused, identified as A Maddilety, 33, a resident of Chaderghat huts at Kalikaber, eked out a living as a rag picker. He managed to kidnap the child from the complainant’s house, who is his sister, while Vishnu was playing alone in the house, police said.
“On June 9, the accused went to his sister’s place and took away Vishnu while he was playing alone. Jyothi, the mother of the child, who saw Maddilety with the child thought he would return after some time but when they did not return till late night, she grew suspicious and lodged a complaint with the police,” ACP (Mirchowk) S Gangadhar said that due to some previous enmity the accused bore a grudge against the family and that made him to kidnap the child.
Based on the complaint lodged by Jyothi, police registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and started investigation. A special team, formed to nab the culprit, swung into action and nabbed the culprit at Jadcherla bus stop while he was trying to go to his native place, Kurnool, and rescued the child. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
