Girl commits suicide after being pestered for sexual favours

A 17 year old girl chose to end her life after being harassed for sexual favours by her co-workers. The girl who worked at a cloth store, Sriram Dresses at KPHB Colony was harassed by her co-workers as she had joined in just two weeks earlier.

The girl set herself on fire in her house by pouring kerosene on herself on June 26 and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment but succumbed on Wednesday. While the police suspect that the girl was harassed by her co-workers who had tried to touch her inappropriately or molest her, the girl’s parents filed a police complaint where they alleged the accused people threatened her against informing about the incident to others.
