Parents torture daughter with hot rods in Hyderabad

19-year-old Prathyusha on her first day in the special room allotted to her in Global Hospitals looked like any other teenager except for the marks on her body reminding of the torture she had been through.

Pratyusha who tried to run away from her home twice said that she had come to terms with her destiny and accepted that eating spoilt food, branding with hot irons was her life. But now, she states that never did she think that a day would arrive where people would care about her.

Her attempts in fleeing from her home failed due to the spread of word by her parents that she was insane and her screams should not be taken seriously. Pratyusha’s mother Sarala passed away in 2010 when she was pursuing a vocational multipurpose health worker’s course which is why she was shifted to an orphanage by her uncle who stayed in Musheerabad.

However, her father came searching in the orphanage in 2014 promising to take care of her. Even with many doubts, Pratyusha in a hope to pursue her studies and continuous attempts from her father, agreed to stay with him. But two months later, Pratyusha was succumbed to physical abuse from her father Ramesh and stepmother Chamundeswari alias Shyamala.

Balala Hakula Sangham’s Mr Achyut Rao informed that a lady police constable has been posted in her room as Pratyusha is opening up about the torture she underwent.
