Three red sanders smugglers held
The joint parties comprising forest department staff and cops undertaking extensive combing operations inside the Seshachalam forests nabbed three red sanders smugglers and seized lakhs of rupees worth red sanders logs on Monday. The joint parties engaged in the combing operations aimed to bring down the smuggling activities to a complete naught and cracked the whip yet again on the red sanders smugglers.
Tirupati: The joint parties comprising forest department staff and cops undertaking extensive combing operations inside the Seshachalam forests nabbed three red sanders smugglers and seized lakhs of rupees worth red sanders logs on Monday. The joint parties engaged in the combing operations aimed to bring down the smuggling activities to a complete naught and cracked the whip yet again on the red sanders smugglers.
According to the officials, combing operations are underway in the Chamala-Bhakrapet forest range during the last few days. And on Monday morning, the joint combing parties spotted the red sanders smugglers while they were transporting the logs near Bommaji Konda and Thagadagundala Kona. Three smugglers were taken into custody by the joint parties and red sanders logs worth Rs 20 lakh were seized from them. Forest officials said that the combing would be further intensified in the area.
