Uber driver assaults Bengaluru couple

Uber has made it to the news once again for wrong reasons. A Bengaluru couple – Ved and Naina alleged that the driver of the App-based cab aggregator Uber cab had tried to physically assault them and refused to drop them at their destination on Tuesday.

While there was no formal complaint filed as the police resolved the issue, the Uber officials informed that the both the customer and driver’s accounts have been kept on hold till the matter is resolved.

The couple got into the cab at Koramangala headed to two different meetings at different places but the cab driver refused to go to the next destination after dropping Ved at Bellandur Eco Space. Naina immediately called Ved informing him about the situation which resulted in Ved arriving at the spot. An argument broke out after which the driver took a jack out of the car’s boot to hit the couple but was snatched away by Ved.

The HAL police were alerted by the couple who arrived an hour later and pacified both ending the row with a compromise. Uber officials stated that the case was solved out of the police station but will wait to see how the investigation pans out.
