Man murders pregnant wife

Mahabubnagar: A man allegedly killed his pregnant wife after heated exchange of words over family matters, police said on Saturday. The incident took place last night in Devarakadra town of this district and the accused, Venkateshwar Reddy, has been detained for questioning, DSP Bala Koti said.

Reddy (28), a resident of Muchinthal village near here, and his wife Anitha (22), had a love marriage in 2010. The couple had been residing in Devarakadra since the last six months, he said. Last night, a verbal fight broke out between Reddy and his wife over some family matters. The man strangled his wife using a piece of cloth, the officer said.
