Woman found dead, family alleges murder

A software engineer’s wife identified as J Prasanna was found dead in suspicious circumstance in Kukatpally on Friday. While the victim's husband A Mohan Reddy claimed that she had committed suicide, her family alleged that she had been strangulated to death.
Natives of Kurnool district, the couple got married two years ago and have a one-and-half year old daughter. A case has been registered against Mohan for dowry death by the Kukatpally Police who suspect the victim committed suicide due to dowry harassment and physical assault.
Prasanna’s father stated that Mohan and his mother were harassing her for dowry and left their apartment two months as she was not able to bear the torture. He further said that Prasanna returned after the intervention of the elders.
Kukatpally ACP N Bhujanga Rao said that Mr Mohan who has been taken into custody admitted to quareling with his wife but said that he slept in another room when she allegedly hanged herself.
