Hyderabad: Over 80 fake doctors including some women in the Old City have been taken into custody by the South Zone police on Saturday.
Awaken by the incident of a fake doctor burning the body of a man who died after injecting high-dosage pain killer, the city police raided hundreds of clinics run in the limits of 22 police stations of South Zone.
On thorough verification of the clinics, the police found that over 50 persons had created fake certificates as medical practitioners and were running clinics illegally. It was also learnt that the clinics were run in the residential vicinities of lower middle class citizens.
Interestingly, a person was holding a certificate from ‘RMP Association of Old City’ and another replied the full form of BAMS as ‘Bachelor of Alternative Medical Sciences’, the sources said. The police seized the clinics and took the accused persons into custody of questioning.
