The victim, who is from Nagpur, was staying at her aunt Shakira Bano's place in Thane and pursuing her intermediate course. Shakira's elder son Rashid Ali wanted to marry the girl and also approached her many times but in vain. She refused to marry him. He later approached her parents who also rejected the proposal and brought her back home.
Rashid called up the girl one day and asked her to come to Mumbai on the pretext of giving her certificates. The Navpada police said that soon after the girl entered his home, her aunt tied her with a rope and asked his son to rape her. "Ali raped the girl and threatened her not to reveal to anyone.
He asked the girl to go home and seek approval from her parents for marriage," the police said. But the brave girl lodged a complaint against her aunt and Rashid and explained her ordeal to them.The police arrested both the mother and son following her complaint.
