Four dead, 5 injured as auto overturns
Four persons died and two others sustained severe injuries when an auto-rickshaw overturned at Kadivedu village in Chillakur mandal in the early hours on Wednesday.
Nellore: Four persons died and two others sustained severe injuries when an auto-rickshaw overturned at Kadivedu village in Chillakur mandal in the early hours on Wednesday.
Eight persons from Chandodu village of Kota mandal were travelling to Nellore in an auto-rickshaw for purchasing fish and their auto overturned at Kadivedu. Three women and the driver of the vehicle died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Challa Ramanamma (40), Malli Papamma, (34), Valipi Rajamma (45) and auto driver Venkatesh (23). Five others received severe injuries and they were shifted to Nellore for better treatment.
Tammisetty Ramanamma, Challa Sujatha, Pusa Chellamma, Sannasaiah and Bellamkonda Ramanaiah received serious injuries in the mishap. The condition of Ramanamma and Chellamma is said to be critical.
The injured were initially taken to Gudur area hospital for treatment and later shifted to Nellore. Gudur DSP Srinivas, rural CI Srinivasulu Reddy,
SI Ankamma and others rushed to the spot and the bodies have been shifted to hospital for post-mortem.
