Hyderabad: Five persons were apprehended by Task Force police on Wednesday for their involvement in cricket betting. A TV, one set top box, one voice recorder besides 16 cell phones and Rs 19,100 was seized.

The organisers Kuldeep Singh, 28, resident of Aghapura and S Chandra Shekar, 27, resident of Shahinayathgunj were nabbed when they were found accepting betting amount in the limits of Sultan Bazaar police station.

They were collecting money from punters, both familiar and strangers, for the match between Adelaide Strikers Vs Perth teams being played in Australia on January 5. The task force also apprehended their three workers Yashpal Sharma, T Anil Singh and R Ajay Kumar.

Around two years ago, Kuldeep Singh started running the betting racket and in the year 2014 he was arrested by Banjara Hills Police in betting cases. Later, he along with his friend Chandra Shekar hatched a plan to resume cricket betting.
